Two members of our 3d Leisure team based at Romans Leisure Spa in Hinckley are celebrating after raising over £200 for charity after running the first Asda Foundation Leicester 10K.

Leisure Manager Andy Rudkin and Leisure Assistant Gahan Todd completed the race on Sunday 3rd September in aid of A Gift To Lift, a local charity the hotel is proudly supporting.

Starting and finishing in Abbey Park, the route for the Leicester 10K took runners across the Grand Union Canal and into the city centre, past the Richard III Visitor Centre and the cathedral, and twice over the River Soar before returning to the park.

Andy says: “At Romans we love doing things that are a little bit different in order to help local charities and support good causes such as this. Yesterdays run was easily one of the toughest yet; as neither of us had trained cardio prior to the event. We were immensely proud to finish as quickly as we did and hope it inspires some of our members to get involved in similar activities. Raising money for such a great cause makes all the after pain worth while.”

Everyone at 3d are very proud of the teams efforts, with Paul Ramsay (Operations Director) adding “Things like this are really positive for all involved, and we love it when our staff are the ones leading the way in helping local charities. We are very proud of the chaps for doing this for such a great cause. Well done!”

The team are now back at work recovering, whilst proudly wearing their medals!
