3d leisure, the leisure facility management company, has been awarded a contract to support the development and management of a wellness centre and spa at a retirement village in Hampshire which opens this September.

The prestigious Bishopstoke Park is being developed by Anchor, England’s largest not-for-profit provider of housing and care for the over-55s. They provide services to over 35,000 older people and aim to offer older people a choice of great places and ways to live. Bishopstoke Park retirement village will consist of independent and assisted living apartments, as well as a state-of-the-art care home, all set in beautiful country surroundings. At the heart of the village sits a carefully restored 19th Century manor house, The Mount, which will become a luxurious swimming pool, spa and wellness centre.
Facilities on offer at Bishopstoke Park include a high-end Wellness Centre and Spa, which will offer all village residents a gym, heated indoor pool, sauna, steam room, hot tub, spa and therapy rooms. There will also be a hair and beauty salon, juice bar and arts and crafts space on site. 3d has supported Anchor in selecting the correct fitness equipment and to recruit a team of highly qualified Wellness Coaches, who will offer a broad range of wellness services to the village residents.
“Clearly the emphasis with the centre is with older people, and we need to ensure that our screening and programming suits our clientele,” noted Paul Dickinson from 3d. “The wellness centre extends way beyond the Mount building into the village’s 32 acres of landscaped grounds, including woodlands walks, kitchen gardens, grass pursuits and a trim trail.” Kevin Young, General Manager at Bishopstoke Park, added: “Our beautiful Mount building lends itself perfectly to our vision of creating one of the county’s first centres of excellence for older people’s wellness. Today’s generation of older people is redefining retirement, and we are committed to meeting their needs.
“We want to provide a state-of-the-art spa and wellness centre, staffed by committed professionals trained in fitness and therapy for the over-55s, so that everyone who lives at Bishopstoke Park feels comfortable, relaxed and ready to embrace later life.
