March Newsletter

Mar 7, 20243d leisure, News

3d leisure is a fitness, spa, and wellbeing operator. We work in four key sub-sectors, hospitality, workplace wellbeing, residential, and education. While many of the services we offer are transferable across these different sectors, it does mean that some of the information within our newsletter won’t be relevant to all clients, but we hope there is something for everyone.

We have just come through what is traditionally our busiest period of the year when there is a surge of people looking to kick start their fitness regime. Despite the current difficult economic climate, as a group, we have seen growth in year-on-year membership sales of 5.1% in January and 10.3% in February. The general feeling is that whilst people are tightening up certain areas of personal expenditure, high-value, low-cost services such as gym membership, are still seen as a good use of disposable income. Excellent news!

Our spa sites generally see a good boost in income from March and right through the spring months and this year the early indications are that we are going to beat previous years in some way, which again, is very encouraging.
As a company, 3d has continued to grow over recent months and we now proudly work with 143 clubs across the UK and Ireland. We still value every individual client, and we would like to thank you for your continued support and partnership with 3d.

– Paul Ramsay, Managing Director

Health & Safety

Due to the nature of our industry, health & safety management is of course extremely important. We need to manage a diverse range of risks, such as people deliberately increasing their physical excursion, staff working with toxic chemicals, and people entering large areas of water. We are rightly very proud of our H&S systems, and we work with the sector’s leading consultant to make sure that we keep 3d and you protected. We have recently digitalised much of our H&S reporting which ensures that all records are automatically stored centrally and enables real-time analysis of any areas of concern. We have recently completed a comprehensive review of many of our systems, and these will be rolled out into the sites through July.

Supporting our Clients

We have recently extended our operations team with the promotion of Rob Orme to Regional Manager. Rob has been with the company for over 10 years working as Club Manager at several sites within the midlands. This appointment is a strategic decision to enable us to reduce the number of sites that each RM works with to allow more support to the clubs on a day-to-day basis.
Adam Clements ( Regional Manager) will now be leading our Health & Safety across the group.

10 Week Live Well Programme

We were super excited to launch our new 10-week online wellbeing programme called ‘Live Well’ to all our corporate sites. The programme can be offered to all employees, and not just those already signed up to use the fitness and wellbeing facilities on site. The programme includes some fantastic information on key topics such as diet, nutrition, working out and getting more active in general. The online programme is simple to sign up to and participants can access a lot of educational information and workouts that they can do at home or in the gym. Our overall goal has always been to get more people, more active, more often, whilst eating a healthy diet and this programme is aimed at those people that don’t usually venture into the gym as well as those who are just starting up their fitness journey.

After signing up participants receive:

10 weeks of educational videos sent via email. The topics covered include.

  • A balanced diet
  • Calories
  • Fats
  • Protein
  • Carbohydrates
  • Fibre
  • Hydration
  • Processed foods
  • Physical activity
  • Staying on track

10 different exercise workout videos that can be done at home or in a studio.

These workouts vary from ab sessions targeting the core to relaxing stretch sessions. Participants can choose a different routine to do each week or stick to the ones they enjoy doing.

10 different ‘focus on form’ body workout videos that are based more in the gym.

These workouts include sessions that range from push-ups to squats.

Daily session planner for the 10 weeks.

The guide gives participants a suggestion on what to do every day over the 10 weeks to help them think about their health and wellbeing and ultimately make lifestyle changes for the better

Recipe downloads with a choice of 10 different meal plans.

Meal plans for breakfast, lunch, evening meals, desserts, snacks, drinks, soups and salads.

We hope that these informative videos, workouts and downloads will lead to people making a change for the better and we are offering the programme to all our corporate clients completely free of charge.
