Client Update: July 2025

Jul 18, 20253d leisure, Corporate, News

As a health and wellbeing management partner, we operate within four key subsectors: hospitality, workplace wellbeing, residential, and education. While many of the services we offer are transferable across these different sectors, this does mean some of the information within our newsletter will not be relevant to all clients, but we hope there is something for everyone.

The last few months have been very busy for us as we have opened a few new sites and also transferred a few from one owner to another.

We have also been working on developing our services further, particularly around Health & Safety, where we will be launching several enhancements over the coming months.

We are now well into the summer months which aways sees a drop in attendance levels within the clubs. Our teams are focussing on engaging with members as much as possible during this time to try and keep cancellations to a minimum. We very much value every individual client, and we would like to thank you for your continued support.

– Paul Ramsay, Managing Director

UKactive State of the Industry Report

Our MD, Paul Ramsay, is very involved with UKactive and currently sits on their Operator Council Board. As a result of this relationship, we have been providing quarterly key performance indicator information for all commercial clubs for the last 2 years.

It was therefore fantastic to see the very first UK Health & Fitness Market Report published in March with analysis from Deloitte.

A standout point from the report was that 16.9% of the UK population are now members of a fitness facility, and this figure continues to grow!

If anyone would like a copy of the full report, please email Molly at office@3dleisure.com

Gender Pay Gap

As part of our commitment to transparency and fairness, we’ve published our annual Gender Pay Gap data, which looks at the average pay difference between men and women across the company.

The key findings this year show that while the mean pay gap has increased slightly to 9.3%, reflecting an ongoing presence of gender imbalances in certain senior or higher-paid roles (which we are actively trying to address), the median pay gap has improved significantly, now standing at just 0.05%.

This is a positive sign that for many employees, regardless of gender, pay equality is present, especially in the middle of the pay range. We’re also seeing a positive movement in gender representation, particularly in the higher pay quartiles where females are taking on senior positions within the business – and we remain committed to further equal gender representation at all levels of the company!

Welcome Sheree

3d has recently expanded our business development team and would like to welcome Sheree Louise Joseph to the team!

Sheree has been a member of the 3d team for the past few years, and this new appointment further demonstrates the career progression and opportunities available within 3d leisure following our policy, whenever possible, to recruit from within.

Please join us in welcoming Sheree to the team!

FIBO

In April a few of our senior team attended the annual FIBO tradeshow in Cologne. FIBO is the biggest fitness and wellbeing convention in the world and attending enables us to meet with existing suppliers and see and experience new products which are coming to market.

3d Visits Technogym Headquarters

Last year, our Corporate Club Manager of the Year award was sponsored by Technogym and won by Will Harper.

As a reward for this Will recently joined some of the 3d Management Team on a visit to the Technogym Village in Cesena Italy. Visiting the Technogym headquarters proved to be a fantastic opportunity to experience the innovation and technology that the company is known for in the world of fitness and wellness.

The visit enabled Technogym to provide hands-on experience with the 3d team, testing all the latest Technogym equipment, demonstrating the continued commitment to research and development and training the team on the latest in Technogym’s products and advances, as well as plans. There was also a tour of the village, including the factory warehouses where they custom-built the equipment.

The fitness industry evolves rapidly, and these visits to Technogym HQ encourage staying updated on trends, new technology, and best practices. Attending these visits contributes to professional growth, boosting confidence and leadership skills that can positively impact the entire gym environment.

Will said, “It was such an incredible trip, I learned so much and met some great people during our visit”

Paul Ramsay, 3d leisure Managing Director, says, ‘It is fantastic to be able to support and develop our talent with opportunities such as regular visits to Technogym HQ, and we are very grateful to Technogym for their ongoing support and for sponsoring this award each year’
