We actively support around 90 different charities

With 155 fitness and wellbeing facilities now being operated within the 3d portfolio, we actively support around 90 different charities.

As an integral part of 3d’s CSR Policy we engage with communities local to each facility we manage wherever possible, one outstanding example of this is from the team at 3d Health & Fitness team one of our corporate facilities in Barnsley.

The chosen charity is Bluebell Wood, a local hospice that supports children with life-shortening conditions and provides care, counselling, respite, and support for their families across Yorkshire. The work they do is incredibly important.  The 3d team have had been very innovative and focused in finding ways to raise funds while getting members actively involved.  The 3d team have created a calendar of events throughout 2025, to date these have included

  • January: Tonnes of Effort – 100 tonnes lifted in under 2 hours
  • February: Row to Bluebell – 50 miles rowed by staff in under 6 hours
  • March & July: Movement Card Challenge – daily fitness tasks with stamp cards and prizes
  • April: 300 Burpee Staff Challenge
  • May: Dress-Up Dash – lunchtime walk in fancy dress for National Walking Month
  • June: Sub Zero Stories – cold plunge challenge while reading children’s stories, fuelled by staff donations to extend the ‘torture’

Engagement has been fantastic – they had over 70 donors throughout the year so far, and loads of participation from members. Even the cold plunge had people queuing up to donate (and throw in ice!) to make it tougher for us while the team read storybooks in freezing water.

Dan Glue, 3d’s Operations Director North says “Our focus on supporting charities nationally and at site level is an important part of 3d’s broader CSR strategy and demonstrates our commitment to making a positive impact in the communities in which we operate”
